TGSRTC Launches New Bus Routes and Services to IT Corridor
Enhancing Connectivity: New Cyber Liners
The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) has launched new bus services, named ‘Cyber Liners,’ to enhance connectivity within the IT Corridor. These mini buses now operate from Raidurg metro station to the newly-opened US consulate, with additional routes linking the station to major IT hubs such as DLF, Waverock, and GAR.
Addressing Traffic Woes in the IT Corridor
In response to escalating traffic issues in the western corridor, TGSRTC has introduced multiple new bus routes over the past six months. Extensive surveys conducted at metro and bus stations, as well as workplaces, identified travel patterns, demands, and potential solutions, leading to the implementation of these routes.
Key Routes and Frequent Services
Among the new routes, the Miyapur to Narsingi route via Allwyn ‘X’ Road, Kothaguda, and Gachibowli stands out. This route, serviced by buses with an average frequency of 15 minutes, aims to cater to software professionals residing in Miyapur, BHEL, Hafeezpet, and nearby areas, facilitating their commute to Gachibowli and Narsingi.
Expanding Reach to High-Demand Areas
Recognizing the commuter potential in areas like Bachupally, Pragathi Nagar, and Miyapur, TGSRTC has increased the number of buses on routes connecting these locations. This expansion aims to meet the growing demand and provide efficient transportation options for residents and employees.
Air-Conditioned Comfort for Long Routes
TGSRTC has also introduced air-conditioned bus services on several key routes. Notable among these are the routes connecting Bachupally and Waverock via JNTU and Mindspace, and another from Mehdipatnam to Gopanpally via Nanakramguda and Wipro. These AC buses were introduced following persistent demand from commuters seeking more comfortable travel options.
Competition and User Preferences
One of the main challenges TGSRTC faces is competing with alternative modes of transport such as cabs, auto-rickshaws, metro services, and bike rental agencies. Commuters often opt for the next available mode of transport instead of waiting for a bus, creating a competitive environment for TGSRTC to navigate.
Exclusive Services for Women
To ensure a hassle-free journey for women during office hours, TGSRTC has launched exclusive Metro Express Ladies Special buses. These services operate from JNTU to Waverock, covering key stops like Forum Mall, Hitec City, Mindspace, Raidurg, Bio-Diversity Park, Gachibowli ‘X’ Road, Indira Nagar, IIT ‘X’ Road, Wipro Circle, and ICICI Towers.
Last Mile Connectivity with Vajra AC Mini Buses
TGSRTC has further enhanced last-mile connectivity by deploying ‘Cyber Liners,’ or Vajra AC mini buses, at metro stations within the IT Corridor. These mini buses shuttle employees from metro stations to their respective offices, providing a seamless and efficient transport solution.
Conclusion: Streamlining Commutes for IT Professionals
TGSRTC’s initiative to introduce new bus routes and services within the IT Corridor reflects a strategic approach to address the transportation needs of the region. By offering frequent, comfortable, and convenient bus services, TGSRTC aims to alleviate traffic congestion and provide IT professionals with reliable commuting options.
