In celebration of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has announced the recipients of the prestigious Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak (Central Home Minister’s Efficiency Medal) for 2023. These awards honor police personnel across India who have demonstrated extraordinary skills and contributions in special operations, investigations, forensic science, and other critical areas. A total of 463 officers nationwide have been selected, including several from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, the Telugu-speaking states.
Honoring Excellence in Law Enforcement Across India
The Kendriya Grihmantri Dakshata Padak awards were established to recognize the exemplary work of law enforcement officers who go above and beyond in their respective roles. This year, police officers from a diverse array of states and union territories have been chosen, representing places like Assam, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and more. Personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), including the CRPF, CBI, NIA, NSG, and ITBP, were also honored.
Recognitions for Police Officers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
This year, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have notable representatives among the awardees. Two Superintendents of Police (SP) from Andhra Pradesh and one SP from Telangana were recognized, in addition to several constables from the Telugu-speaking states who have excelled in their duties. These officers have showcased remarkable dedication and commitment, contributing significantly to public safety and national security.
