Pushpa 2’s long-awaited release changed from being a celebration to a calamity when a stampede occurred at the Sandhya 70mm Theater in Hyderabad’s Dilshukhnagar. The resultant disaster caused the death of 39-year-old Revathi and left her 9 year old son in a precarious state.
What Happen Leading Up to This Event
On the fateful day Revathi, along with husband Bhaskar and their two children, a 9-year-old son and a 7-year-old daughter, had gone to the premier of Pushpa 2 and not only that they were one of the families entering the RTC Cross Roads which was filled with excited fans waiting to see their favorite actor, Allu Arjun.
When Allu Arjun arrived at the venue, there was a rush from a large crowd of fans wanting to see him. This enthusiasm, turned into chaos, where people were pushing and shoving each other. The temple stampede turned the situation around, which retreated the fans away.
What Occurred After the Fight
The mad rush from the crowd towards the gates left a lot of destruction . Revathi was in the midst of this whole brave and it didn’t end well as she and her son fainted, But the police managed to revive them and took them to Vidyanagar to seek medical assistance.
It is unfortunate that Revathi breathed her last at the hospital. The condition of her son was dire which required shifting him to KIMS Hospital situated at Begumpet. Thereafter, Revathi’s remains were shifted to Gandhi Mortuary for the required procedures.
Request for Events Giving Better Crowd Control
Tragedy such as this idea screams the need for looking into the issue of crowd control at event venues, especially during the launch of new movies. The premiere of Pushpa 2 brought along hundreds and thousands of spectators which proved to be a lot for the theater and its meager security to handle.
Measures to Prevent Such Circumstances from Reoccurring
This dreadful occurrence in no small measure reveals the issues that large events pose and conductor attendants health and safety of the attendees. Such as, hiring more security guards, having controlled ticket sales, organized systems of people coming in and out of the venue. To achieve this, coordination between the governments and the organizers of the event is imperative so that the enthusiasm of the fans does not create uncontrollable situations.

No one surely blames people for being overly excited during the release of mega cinemas say Pushpa 2, however, this incident bearing such nasty consequences is a lesson to us all of what lack of planning and crowd control during events can result in. Ask fans to remain civilised during the events while organisers must have the audience’s safety at the back of their minds.
The murder of Reverend’s family has shocked the entire country but it is a wake-up call for everyone organising events. Strengthened safety precautions within places of entertainment are imperative in order that the patrons of cinema and performing arts do not have to live in such fear.
