Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) is planning to construct a new metro station in Nagole, which will be close to the existing ‘Blue Line’ terminal station. This new station is part of the proposed metro link to the international airport at Shamshabad. To connect these two stations, a skywalk will be built at the concourse level. During an inspection of the 14-kilometer Nagole-Chandrayangutta leg of the Airport Metro, a team of metro officials, led by MD N.V.S. Reddy, decided to adjust the alignment by moving it 10 meters further to the left along the Musi River. This adjustment was made to avoid interfering with water main pipelines and high-tension power lines. To facilitate the proposed river rejuvenation work, longer spans will be used to cross the Musi River. Additionally, another metro station is planned immediately after crossing the river. This station will provide connectivity to the road from Kottapet Junction and serve the residents of nearby colonies. The proposed Nagole RTO station will be located near Alkapuri Junction (Lucky Restaurant) to connect to the Outer Ring Road (ORR). Furthermore, another metro station will be situated on the right side of the Kamineni Hospital station. To address potential challenges caused by tall flyovers at Bairamalguda (Sagar), the decision was made to shift the metro alignment to the right of the flyovers. The station will be located in the adjacent open space. Other proposed stations, including Mythri Nagar, Karmanghat, Champapet Road Junction, Owaisi Hospital, DRDO, and Hafeez Baba Nagar, will cater to the needs of nearby colonies. The construction of the Chandrayangutta interchange station will be an engineering challenge due to the presence of a flyover. Proper integration of both corridors will require adjustments to the concourse and platform levels. Private land acquisition for stations will be minimal and will be carried out through discussions with the police and residents. Telangana State
