Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has laid out an ambitious plan to drive the development of North Telangana, with a particular focus on Warangal. Major Infrastructure Developments in Warangal During the “Praja Palana Vijayostsavalu” event at Arts College in Hanamkonda, marking the Congress government’s first year in power, the Chief Minister announced transformative projects. A significant portion of these efforts includes plans for enhanced air connectivity. Revanth Reddy highlighted Telangana’s lag in airport infrastructure compared to neighboring states and pledged to establish four new airports in Warangal, Kothagudem, Ramagundam, and Adilabad. Specifically, ₹205 crore has been allocated for developing the Mamnoor airport in Warangal, demonstrating the government’s resolve to improve regional connectivity. The government has earmarked ₹6,000 crore to modernize Warangal’s infrastructure, reflecting its intent to elevate the city’s stature to match Hyderabad’s prominence. “Warangal’s growth will catalyze development across Telangana,” the Chief Minister asserted, vowing to work tirelessly until this vision becomes a reality. Empowering Women Through Economic Initiatives Drawing inspiration from former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, Revanth Reddy announced programs to empower women. A landmark initiative seeks to make one crore women financially independent by providing interest-free loans to women-led self-help groups (SHGs). The government aims to promote women-led enterprises, equating them with major corporate houses like Tata and Birla. Women leaders, including Konda Surekha and Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka), will continue to play pivotal roles in the administration. Furthermore, Revanth Reddy highlighted increased representation of women in his cabinet, contrasting it with the previous government’s lack of female ministers during its first term. Accountability and Completion of Pending Projects The Chief Minister criticized the previous BRS government for neglecting crucial projects, including the Kaloji Kalakshetram, which remained incomplete for a decade. Under the Congress government, this cultural landmark was finished at a cost of ₹90 crore. Additionally, significant investments were made to modernize Warangal’s infrastructure, such as: A comprehensive underground drainage system costing ₹4,170 crore. The construction of the Naimnagar Nala and Bridge for ₹8.3 crore to improve connectivity. ₹28 crore for a new building at the Government Polytechnic College. ₹160.3 crore for flood drainage systems. ₹65 crore for expanding Parakala and Erragattugutta Road. These projects underline the Congress government’s determination to deliver tangible progress for the people of Telangana. Promoting Comprehensive Development in Warangal The government has approved several key initiatives to shape Warangal’s future, including the Master Plan-2041 for the Kakatiya Development Area and ₹80 crore for the Warangal Inner Ring Road project. Administrative towers for the Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) are also being constructed at a cost of ₹32.5 crore. Revanth Reddy reiterated his election campaign promise to make Warangal the second capital of Telangana. “Transforming Warangal into a hub of opportunity will foster balanced growth across the state,” he stated. Boosting Agriculture and Rural Development The Chief Minister highlighted Telangana’s achievements in agriculture, noting record production of 1.53 crore metric tonnes of rice cultivated across 66 lakh acres. Farmers have benefited from initiatives such as the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and additional bonuses of ₹500 for fine rice varieties. The Congress government has also prioritized loan waivers for farmers, with ₹18,000 crore in debt forgiven for 22 lakh farming families. Revanth Reddy encouraged farmers to trust the government, assuring them of continued support. Expanding Airport Infrastructure Across Telangana Acknowledging the disparity in airport infrastructure, the Chief Minister emphasized plans to establish new airports in Warangal, Kothagudem, Ramagundam, and Adilabad.
