Development of Mamnoor Airport in Warangal: Telangana's Vision for Regional Connectivity The Telangana government has taken a significant step toward enhancing regional air connectivity by approving the development of Mamnoor Airport, located on the outskirts of Warangal city. This ambitious project, spearheaded by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), aims to accommodate A-320 aircraft for Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) operations. AAI has committed to funding the infrastructure costs, as well as handling the operational and maintenance expenses of the airport. This includes constructing a new terminal, extending the runway, and building an Air Traffic Control (ATC) tower, among other facilities. Land Acquisition and Expansion Plans To accommodate A-320 type aircraft and IFR operations, the current runway at Mamnoor Airport will be extended from 1.8 km to 3.9 km. This requires a total of 300 acres of additional land, supplementing the existing 693 acres.
