Historic Verdict: AAP Candidate Kuldeep Kumar Declared Mayor by Supreme Court In a historic ruling on Tuesday, the Supreme Court announced its verdict on the case of irregularities in the Chandigarh mayoral election. The court declared Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Kuldeep Kumar as the rightful winner, dismissing the old results. During the hearing, Chief Justice directed to validate all 8 votes previously invalidated by the Returning Officer, affirming that all these votes were in favor of the petitioner, Kuldeep Kumar. These votes had been marked as invalid by the Returning Officer. Allegations and Court Proceedings Chief Justice, during the proceedings, pointed out that all 8 votes were in favor of Kuldeep Kumar. The Returning Officer had acted beyond his authority by invalidating these votes. Prior to questioning on Monday, serious warnings were issued to Anil Masih regarding the serious consequences of his actions. The Returning Officer marked his mark on 8 ballot papers, operating outside his jurisdiction, thus committing an offense that demands appropriate action. Court's Verdict and Responses After the Supreme Court's ruling, Kuldeep Kumar expressed gratitude towards the court and emphasized that while truth may be troubled for a while, it cannot be crushed or suppressed.
