Women of all castes can apply for the scheme, which also supports them with financial assistance, cooking subsidies and free travel. Understanding the Mahalakshmi Scheme in Telangana Mahalakshmi Yojana aims to cater women belonging to Economically weaker section and other submerged communities such as those identified with having BPL or APL. Targets of the scheme include moving women within BPL and APL sectors out of extreme poverty. The scheme stipulates that the beneficiaries will earn ₹2500 monthly, purchase gas cylinders at ₹500, and enjoy free travel through Telangana’s buses. Cooking Subsidy: Moreover 500 rupees have been set aside for the purchase of LPG cylinders cutting down the household costs. No cost travel: Women are provided free transportation on TSRTC buses throughout the state. Free travel on TSRTC buses under the Mahalakshmi scheme.
