The Hyderabad Meteorological Center has announced light showers for five consecutive days starting from the fourth of this month. Last month, a series of low-pressure areas developed in the Bay of Bengal, causing the weather across the state to remain cloudy for almost three weeks. The sun was scarcely seen. According to the latest bulletin released by the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light rains with cloudy weather are expected across Telangana. Weather Impact on Telangana Due to Low Pressure in Bay of Bengal A low-pressure area has formed near West Bengal in the Bay of Bengal, affecting Telangana for the next four days. During these days, light to very heavy rains are expected. Officials have stated that rainfall will increase across the state after 10 PM tonight, with gusty winds blowing at speeds of 15 to 20 kilometers per hour. Additionally, temperatures are gradually rising, with the current average temperature recorded at 31 degrees Celsius in Telangana and 35 degrees Celsius in Andhra Pradesh. Water Levels and Precautionary Measures The Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam projects are brimming with water, and water is plentiful in all tanks across the state. Four gates have been opened at Srisailam to release water downstream. Other projects also have an abundance of water. The government has readied disaster relief teams to take necessary actions if any disasters occur. Winds blowing at speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour are anticipated, and the government is prepared to assist residents in low-lying areas in case of heavy rains. People have been advised to venture out only if necessary. IMD's Latest Bulletin and Regional Weather Forecast The latest IMD bulletin, released at 9:30 PM on August 3, 2024, indicates active monsoons in the southern states. The trough extends over the Telugu states. The trough also continues near Gujarat and Kerala. Northern states, including Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh, are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rains on August 4. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana will experience light to moderate rains sporadically from August 4 for the next five days. Satellite Observations and Rain Predictions Satellite live estimates show significant cloud cover over the Telugu states today, although some heat will persist. Showers will start in western Telangana after 4 PM, followed by light rain in northern Telangana after 5 PM, continuing until midnight. Rainfall will increase in northern Telangana after 10 PM, with moderate rain expected in East Rayalaseema and the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh after 11 PM. Wind Speeds and Safety Advisory Winds from the Arabian Sea are moving towards AP and Telangana, with speeds ranging from 14 to 20 kilometers per hour in AP and 12 to 17 kilometers per hour in Telangana. The wind speeds are notably high, and two-wheeler riders should drive cautiously. Temperatures are rising again, with an average heat of 31 degrees Celsius in Telangana and 35 degrees Celsius in AP. The coastal areas of AP will particularly experience intense heat on Sunday, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius in East Rayalaseema. Humidity and Rainfall Expectations Northern Telangana and northern Andhra Pradesh will experience some humidity, but significant rainfall is not expected in AP.
