ady released its manifesto, which includes a comprehensive 12-point ‘SC, ST Declaration.’ Additionally, the party had earlier unveiled the ‘Farmers Declaration’ and the ‘Youth Declaration.’ It is anticipated that the Congress will release its initial list of candidates for the upcoming elections in the first week of November 2023.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has yet to announce the specific dates for the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. However, it is expected that the elections will be held in November-December, similar to the 2018 Assembly elections, which saw polling on December 7, 2018, and the subsequent counting of votes on December 11, 2018. It’s worth noting that the counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh also took place on the same day.

The results for the 119 constituencies in the Telangana Assembly Election 2023 are anticipated to be declared by the Election Commission by December 2023. The state is expected to conduct the election in a single phase, followed by the vote count and result announcement. The Composition of Telangana Assembly

Telangana boasts a total of 119 seats. In a notable move, KCR’s BRS has already announced candidates for 115 out of the 119 seats. Chief Minister KCR himself will contest from two constituencies, Gajwel and Kamareddy. With only seven seats remaining, the announcement of candidates for the constituencies of Nampally, Narsapur, Goshamahal, and Jangaon is pending and will be revealed later.

CM Candidates for Telangana Assembly Election 2023

BRS has officially declared KCR as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the upcoming polls. During a recent rally in Armoor, BRS MLC and KCR’s daughter, K Kavitha, challenged the Opposition parties to name their Chief Ministerial candidate for Telangana, stating, “Our Chief Ministerial candidate is K Chandrashekhar Rao. Who is yours?” In contrast, the Congress has yet to make a formal announcement regarding its CM candidate. Speculations suggest that potential candidates for the Congress party in Telangana may include state PCC president A Revanth Reddy, Seethakka, Dansari Anasuya, Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Capt N Uttamkumar Reddy, and Komatireddy Venkata Reddy.

The Road to Telangana Election 2023

The Election Commission of India (ECI) is yet to unveil the schedule for the 2023 Telangana Assembly elections. However, if history is any indication, the elections are likely to take place in December. Notably, in 2018, KCR surprised many by dissolving the Assembly nearly eight months before the end of his first government’s term. He promptly called for early elections and revealed a list of 105 candidates on the same day, September 6. As no other party held a majority, the governor dissolved the house, leading to general elections. The election notification followed, and the state went to the polls three months later on December 7. These developments coincided with the timing of the Lok Sabha elections.

Party-Wise Manifestos and Promises

The major political players in the Telangana Assembly Elections 2023 include BRS, Congress, and the BJP. These parties are expected to unveil their manifestos once the Election Commission announces the election dates.

In the 2018 Telangana elections, the TRS party made several promises in its manifesto, including doubling old-age pensions, increasing financial assistance to farmers, providing unemployment allowances, and waiving crop loans. K Chandrasekhar Rao, then TRS president and CM, released the manifesto at a grand public rally held at Secunderabad parade grounds, just three days before the end of the election campaign.

BRS Candidate List for Telangana 2023

K Chandrasekhar Rao, the chief of BRS and Telangana Chief Minister, has unveiled the first list of candidates, featuring 115 names out of 119. For the 2023 Telangana elections, CM Rao himself will contest from two constituencies, Gajwel and Kamareddy. KTR, also known as KT Rama Rao, the son of CM KCR, will contest from Sircilla. The party has announced that it will release its manifesto for the state in Warangal district on October 16.
