Child Safety and Content Restrictions at Live Events in Telangana

Dear Organizers and Artists, This notice will bring to your understanding the issues related to safety of children, and content regulation during live events in Telangana.

Notice is also given to the organizers of the live concert “Dil-Luminati” which is scheduled to be on November 15, 2024 near Novotel Hotel, located on Airport Approach Road, Shamshabad, Hyderabad. This notice is issued to the Department for the Welfare of Women, Children, Disabled and Senior Citizens in Rangareddy District, the Government of Telangana dated . 03/11/2018. The notice outlines some provisions and restrictions with a view to child protection and the promotion of some themes in the content of the concert.

Children Safety During Live Concerts and Performances

Following the directions, the organizers have been recommended not to allow children on stage during the course of performance as the chances of risk to such kids due to loud sound is always there, as per WHO recommended that level of sound should never be more than 120 decibels to children, or rather such exposure is more likely to result into some degree of hearing impairment in the future. Thus, the government of Telangana has issued an advisory that at no occasion a child should be around stage where the volume may go above these safety standards.

Content That Relates To Alcohol, Drugs And Violence Should Be Avoided

There are some performances in marching band which exhibit characteristics that the notice does not wish to be displayed at the concert including promoting drugs violence and alcohol, which can unfortunately be common in most performances by the artist. Therefore, since the ‘Dil-Luminati’ concert allows children below the age of 13 years, organizers are informed that it is their duty to ensure adolescents are not exposed to relaying messages that are not appropriate for them.

A copy of these directions has been sent to the Cyberabad Commissionerate, Officer in Charge Narsing Police Station, and the relevant officers in the Welfare Department to ensure strict compliance with these directives.
