Harish Rao Condemns Revanth Reddy for Misleading Public with Unfulfilled Promises

In a recent public address, Harish Rao, former minister and senior BRS leader, sharply criticized Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for allegedly deceiving the people of Telangana with unfulfilled promises. Rao accused Reddy of engaging in political tactics to mislead citizens and sidestep the government’s failure to implement key policies and programs, especially in job creation and welfare initiatives.

BRS Government’s Achievement in Job Creation

Harish Rao highlighted the significant achievements of the BRS government in creating employment opportunities, noting that 1,61,000 government positions have been filled over the past nine years. He dismissed recent claims by the Congress about job creation, calling them misleading. Rao emphasized that while Congress claims to have provided 50,000 jobs, most of these were actually part of recruitment processes initiated by the previous administration, with appointments stalled by the election code. By contrast, the BRS government, according to Rao, has consistently focused on genuine employment generation.

Congress Fails to Fulfill Key Election Promises

During his speech, Rao pointed out several promises made by the Congress government that remain unfulfilled despite being in office for nearly 300 days. He highlighted that Congress had committed to creating 200,000 jobs within its first year in office but has managed to fulfill less than 10% of this target. Similarly, Congress had promised a loan waiver for farmers by December 9, 2023, yet many eligible farmers are still waiting for this relief.

Additionally, Rao mentioned that the Congress government’s commitment to providing monthly pensions of Rs 4,000 has yet to materialize, even after nearly a year in power. Congress also promised a monthly allowance of Rs 2,500 for women over 18 but has yet to implement this initiative. Rao stressed that these unfulfilled promises are creating a significant gap between Congress’s election campaign rhetoric and its actual performance.

Education and Crop Bonuses: Unrealized Plans

Another area where Congress has failed, according to Rao, involves its promises in education and agricultural support. The Congress government pledged education assurance cards worth Rs 5 lakh per student—a promise that remains unimplemented. Additionally, while bonuses for every crop were promised, the benefit has been limited to only certain crops, leaving many farmers without the anticipated financial support.

Moreover, the Congress had promised to distribute one tola of gold for Kalyana Lakshmi beneficiaries and provide electric vehicles for female students. However, neither of these initiatives has been addressed, leading to further disappointment among the people of Telangana.

Criticism of Congress’s Approach to BRS-Initiated Schemes

Rao accused the Congress government of abandoning several beneficial schemes that were launched under the previous BRS administration. He cited popular initiatives such as Rythu Bandhu, Dalit Bandhu, BC Bandhu, KCR Kit, Nutrition Kit, the Breakfast Scheme for government school students, and Bathukamma sarees. According to Rao, these programs provided essential support to various sections of society and were crucial for the welfare of the people. Rao alleged that Congress’s decision to shelve these programs highlights a lack of commitment to supporting the marginalized and addressing the needs of Telangana’s residents.

Call for Accountability and Fulfillment of Promises

In closing, Harish Rao called on the Congress government to take responsibility for its actions and fulfill the promises made during the election campaign. He criticized prominent Congress leaders, including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, for attempting to mislead the public by presenting the government’s shortcomings as achievements. Rao described this as a “shameful” approach and urged Congress to focus on delivering meaningful results instead of propagating false narratives.

Conclusion: Harish Rao’s Call for Fulfilling Electoral Promises

Harish Rao’s remarks highlight a strong sense of dissatisfaction with the current Congress administration in Telangana. By calling attention to unfulfilled promises in employment, welfare, education, and agricultural support, Rao seeks to hold the government accountable for its commitments. As the political landscape in Telangana continues to evolve, the public’s demand for accountability and transparency in governance is expected to intensify
