CM Revanth Reddy Calls for Indiramma Committees by Dussehra

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has directed the establishment of Indiramma Committees across Telangana by the Dussehra festival. He emphasized that every eligible individual must be provided housing under the Indiramma housing scheme, and instructed officials to draft clear guidelines for setting up these committees within the next few days.

Accelerating Indiramma Housing Scheme Implementation

At a high-level review meeting held at the Secretariat, attended by Minister Ponguleti, CM’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, and Telangana Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari, the Chief Minister discussed the progress of the Indiramma housing scheme. He urged officials to ensure that all eligible citizens receive their allocated homes without delay.

Telangana’s Housing Allocation Under PMAY

During the meeting, CM Revanth Reddy raised concerns about the disparity in housing allocations under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY). He questioned why other states were receiving a larger number of houses compared to Telangana and urged officials to take necessary actions to secure maximum allocations for the state.

The CM emphasized the importance of keeping the central government updated with the necessary data and instructed officials to ensure that all relevant information is regularly provided to the authorities in New Delhi.

Reviving Unused Housing Blocks in Rajiv Swagruha Scheme

CM Revanth Reddy also directed officials to take immediate steps to auction the unused blocks and houses that have remained unoccupied for years under the Rajiv Swagruha scheme. These blocks, lying idle for years, could potentially be sold off to generate revenue and address housing shortages.

Addressing Delays in Double Bedroom House Allotments

Another significant issue highlighted by the Chief Minister was the delay in handing over double-bedroom houses to the selected beneficiaries. He expressed displeasure over the slow pace of allotments and directed officials to ensure that eligible individuals receive their houses promptly.

Furthermore, the CM stressed the need to provide basic infrastructure to housing blocks in Hyderabad that have been built but remain unused. Once these facilities are in place, the houses must be handed over to the rightful beneficiaries without further delay.

A Focus on Housing for All in Telangana

The Indiramma housing scheme has long been an integral part of Telangana’s commitment to providing housing for all. With a renewed push from CM Revanth Reddy, the state is poised to accelerate efforts to ensure that every eligible individual, especially those from economically weaker sections, receives a house.

The Chief Minister’s directives focus not only on ensuring that new houses are built and allotted but also on addressing the inefficiencies in existing housing projects. The auctioning of unutilized housing blocks, ensuring regular data updates to the central government, and fast-tracking double-bedroom house allotments are all critical steps toward achieving this goal.

By implementing these measures and establishing Indiramma Committees at all levels, Telangana is taking a significant stride toward resolving the housing challenges faced by its citizens.
