Amara Raja’s Rs 9,500 Crore Project, Affirms CM Revanth Reddy

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy declared on Wednesday that the Telangana government is committed to providing essential support for Amara Raja’s Rs 9,500 Crore Project, Affirms CM Revanth Reddy. The project encompasses the establishment of an advanced chemistry cell gigafactory and a battery pack assembly unit in Mahbubnagar district.

Telangana’s Commitment to Clean Energy

Revanth Reddy, emphasizing Telangana’s dedication to clean energy, assured unwavering support for Amara Raja’s Giga Corridor project and ePositive Energy Labs in the state. The Chief Minister acknowledged Amara Raja as a pivotal partner in Telangana’s growth narrative, particularly highlighting the priority placed on advanced storage technologies like Advanced Chemistry Cells (ACCs) for the state’s development.

Collaborative Dialogue on Ongoing and Future Projects

During the meeting between Chief Minister Reddy, Jayadev Galla (Chairman and Managing Director of Amara Raja Energy & Mobility), and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, discussions revolved around Amara Raja’s existing projects in Telangana. Additionally, the leaders explored potential areas of collaboration between the state and the Amara Raja Group, underlining the strategic importance of such partnerships.

Amara Raja’s Endeavors in Advanced Energy Storage

Amara Raja Energy & Mobility (ARE&M), a leading player in energy storage and mobility, is among the largest manufacturers of batteries for both industrial and automotive applications in India. As part of its venture into advanced energy storage technologies to meet the escalating demands of electric mobility and energy storage markets, Amara Raja is establishing the Giga Corridor.

The Giga Corridor Project

The Giga Corridor project is a monumental undertaking, featuring one of India’s largest lithium-ion Giga Factories for Advanced Chemistry Cell manufacturing and Battery Pack assembly in Mahbubnagar. Complementing this initiative is the Research and Development hub named E-Positive Energy Labs in Shamshabad, near Telangana’s capital. With a substantial capital investment of Rs 9,500 crore, the project holds the potential to generate direct employment for 4,500 individuals, with a similar number in indirect employment.

Acknowledging Government Support

Expressing gratitude for the government’s consistent backing, Jayadev Galla highlighted the swift execution of the Giga Corridor project. He conveyed Amara Raja’s anticipation of significant expansion and urged the Telangana government to sustain its support, positioning the state as a major force in the evolving Electric Vehicle (EV) and New Energy sector.

The meeting, attended by Chief Secretary A Santhi Kumari, Principal Secretary (Industries) Jayesh Ranjan, and Special Secretary (Investment Promotion) Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, further underscores the collective commitment to fostering a conducive environment for the successful implementation of Amara Raja’s transformative projects in Telangana.
