164 Kgs of Ganja Seized, Inter-State Drug Peddlers Arrested in Hyderabad, The Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone Team, in collaboration with the Bhavani Nagar and Humayun Nagar police stations, has successfully apprehended six inter-state drug peddlers. This significant bust involved the seizure of a massive 164 kgs of ganja and properties valued at Rs. 51 lakhs.

Case No. I: Cr. No. 253/2024 – Humayun Nagar PS, 100 Kgs of Ganja

Details of Arrest: Acting on credible information, the task force caught three inter-state drug peddlers in possession of 100 kgs of ganja near Arabian Food Corner, Paramount Colony, Road No. 86, Hakeekpet, Tolichowki, Hyderabad.

Case Overview: Dharavath Ravi, a resident of Koranpally Thanda, Pitlam, Kamareddy District, had a prior arrest in Maharashtra for a drug-related offense. Recently, he procured 32 packets of ganja, totaling 100 kgs, from a cultivator named Govind in Muchumput, Odisha. Along with his associates, Syed Bahadur and Ananda Ramji Kadam, Ravi transported the ganja to Hyderabad in a Hyundai Accent car. The Task Force intercepted the vehicle near Paramount Colony, within Humayun Nagar Police Station limits. The accused and the seized materials were handed over to Humayun Nagar Police Station for further action.

Case No. II: Cr. No. 93/2024 – Bhavani Nagar PS, 64 Kgs of Ganja

Details of Arrest: In another significant operation, the task force apprehended three more inter-state drug peddlers with 64 kgs of ganja near Sameena Hospital, Bhavani Nagar.

Case Overview: Shaik Parwez, a native of Asifnagar, Hyderabad, had been previously involved in two NDPS cases in Ravulapalem, AP, and Langer House, Hyderabad. During his imprisonment in Rajahmundry Jail for the Ravulapalem case, he met Deepak, a ganja cultivator and peddler from Kalimela, Odisha. Upon his release in April 2024, Parwez devised a plan to peddle ganja for quick money. He contacted Deepak, who sent the ganja to Hyderabad via RTC buses. The Task Force team, acting on reliable information, apprehended the accused near Sameena Hospital with two cars and a piloting two-wheeler. The seized materials and the accused were handed over to Bhavani Nagar Police Station for further action.

Conclusion

These operations were conducted under the supervision of South West Zone Task Force Inspector S. Bala Swamy, Sub Inspector B. Ajeeth Singh, and the staff of Bhavani Nagar and Humayun Nagar police stations. This major bust highlights the ongoing efforts to curb the drug menace and ensure the safety and well-being of the community.
