Yadadri Thermal Power Station is a thermal power station located in the Yadadri district of Telangana, India. It is the largest thermal power station in the state, with an installed capacity of 4,000 megawatts (MW). The plant utilizes coal as its primary fuel source and has been operational since October 2017.
The Yadadri Thermal Power Station is a major contributor to the state’s power requirements and has been instrumental in helping Telangana meet its energy needs. It also provides employment opportunities to thousands of people living in and around the area. The plant utilizes advanced technologies such as supercritical boilers and modern emission control systems to ensure that it runs efficiently and safely.
The government of Telangana hereby authorizes the District Collector, Nalgonda to notify the lands/areas required for the establishment of Yadadri Thermal Power Station, at Veerlapalem Village of Damercherla Mandal, Nalgonda District to notify as “Affected Area”, as stipulated under LARR Act, 2013
Yadadri Thermal Power Station YTPS Vishnupuram
In the circumstances reported by the District Collector, Nalgonda, and In exercise of the powers conferred under Rule 2(c) of Telangana State Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2014, the following notification shall be published in the extra-ordinary Gazette of Telangana State Dt:13-04-2016.
RFCTLARR Act, 2013 Government intends to acquire land for a Public Purpose, Social impact assessment study should be carried out in the affected area in consultation with the respective local body .
The CMD, TSGENCO Govt. of Telangana has issued G.O.Ms.No.06, Energy (Budget/A1) Department, Dt.11.03.2022, duly according to exemption from the application of provisions of the Chapter II and III of RFCTLARR Act, 2013 (Telangana Amendment Act, 2016) Gazette notification in Form-A for the land of the total extent of Ac.286-37 for
(5×800 MW) YTPS as detailed below

- The CMD, TSGENCO further stated that due to modified take off point of the railway line for YTPS, on Janpahad – VNUP (Vishnupuram) railway line as suggested by South Central Railway, additional land to an extent of Ac. 3-21 Gts in Dameracherla (V) of Dameracherla (M), Nalgonda (Dist.) is required for the railway line from Ch.0M to 650M, as mentioned below.

Also, the base width of the railway siding embankment at various locations has increased due to the change in formation level of railway line from Janpahad line – VNUP railway line, additional land to an extent of Ac.15-35.50 Gts situated in Narsapuram (V), Thalla Veerappagudem (V), Dameracherla (V), Wadapally (V) of Dameracherla (M), Nalgonda (Dist.) is required, as mentioned below.

It is submitted that, the CMD, TSGENCO has requested the District Collector, Nalgonda, vide Lr No.CE/Const/SE/Civil/CC-I/YTPS/F.Land Acquisition /D.No.371/22-23, Dt.22.09.2022 and Lr.No.CE/Const/SE/Civil/CC-I/YTPS/F.Land Acquisition/ D.No.383/22-23, Dt.01.10.2022, for acquisition of above additional lands required for construction of New BG line from existing Vishnupuram Railway Station to proposed Marshalling Yard of YTPS.
It is further submitted that, construction works of railway siding and marshalling yard of YTPS were awarded to M/s. SRC Company Infra Private Limited and the works are in progress. As per the commissioning schedule of (5x800MW) YTPS project, the Units-I & II are scheduled for synchronization with coal by October, 2023 & January, 2024 respectively, and other Units with 2 months gap each from thereafter. Hence, the land acquisition process is to be completed at the earliest to complete the railway siding works to suit with the commissioning schedule of Units
- Therefore, the Chairman & Managing Director, TSGENCO has requested Government to exempt additional lands acquisition for the construction of new BG line mentioned in the following table and land acquisition for Yadadri Thermal Power Station at Narsapuram (V), Thalla Veerrappagudem (V), Wadapally (V), Dameracherla (V) & (M), Nalgonda District and arrange to publish respective Notifications in Form-A of the Rules under the RFCTLARR (Telangana Amendment) Act, 2016, in the public interest. Further, all efforts have been made to acquire the minimum extent of land for the above purpose.

In the circumstances reported by the CMD, TSGENCO and Government after careful consideration and examination of the provisions made in the Acts 1 to 3 read above, Government have decided to issue notification in Form-A duly exempting aforementioned additional lands from application of Chapters II and III of RFCTLARR Act, 2013 (Telangana Amendment Act, 2016) for establishment of new BG line for Yadadri Thermal Power Station in the public interest, accordingly

“In exercise of the provisions contained in Sec.10 (A) of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement (RFCTLARR) Act, 2013 (Telangana Amendment Act, 2016) in its application to the State of Telangana, the Government hereby, exempt the following additional lands required for establishment of new BG line for (5×800 MW) Yadadri Thermal Power Station, from the application of provisions of the Chapter II and Chapter III of the RFCTLARR

Construction of New Broad Gauge (B.G.) line from existing Vishnupuram railway station to the proposed Marshalling yard (5x800MW) YTPS at Dameracherla, Talla Veerappagudem and Narsapuram Villages in Dameracherla Mandal of Nalgonda District (iii) Construction of infrastructure facilities for YTPS complex at Thimmapur, Kallepally, Kothapally, Veerlapalem & Tallaveerappagudem Villages in Dameracherla Mandal of Nalgonda District.
Further, he has informed that in order to avoid delay of the project completion, the land acquisition process is to be completed at the earliest to speed up the construction activities of the project and hence very much essential to obtain exemption from Chapter – II & III of RFCTLA & RR Act, 2013 to avoid Social Impact Assessment study and accordingly requested to arrange to issue Form-A for exemption from the application of provisions of Chapter-II & III of RFCTLA & RR Act 2013 for filing the requisition with Revenue Department for acquisition of lands for the YTPP project so as to enable the Revenue authorities to complete the land acquisition process
Government after careful consideration and examination of the provisions made in the Acts 1 to 3 read above, decided to issue Notification in Form-A duly exempting from conducting Social Impact Assessment (SIA) study under Chapter II and III of RFCTLARR Act, 2013, in public interest, to a total extent of Ac.234.50 i.e., (i) Ac.82.00 for Construction of Intake structure and laying Raw water pipeline from Krishna River Tail Pond Dam Reservoir to YTPS Boundary at Chityala, Adividevulapally Villages in Adividevulapally Mandal and Veerlapalem village
