Exemption of Market Fee on Eggs and Chicken – AP Orders

Orders have been issued for exempting the Eggs and Chicken from collection of levy of market fee for a period of five (5) years with effect from 04-08-2007.

Since the exemption ordered in the reference, has expired on 03-08-2012, the President, Andhra Pradesh Poultry Federation in his representation 3rd read above has requested to consider waiver of market cess on eggs and chicken- “Hens & Cocks” as a permanent measure which will remove mental agony and give substantial relief to the Poultry farmers and thus pave the way for sustained growth of poultry in the State in view of the problems being faced due to the cost of production of eggs and broilers and also the cost of other feed ingredients such as Broken Rice, Jowar, Bazra etc..

Government having examined the matter in consultation with Commissioner & Director of Agricultural Marketing, Hyderabad has decided to exempt the Eggs and Chicken from levy of market fee permanently from the date of issue of the G.O. keeping in view the prevailing conditions in the Poultry Industry, and accordingly hereby exempt the Eggs and Chicken from levy of Market Fee permanently.

The Commissioner and Director of Agricultural Marketing, A.P., Hyderabad shall take further action accordingly.

This Orders issues with the concurrence of Fin(Exp.A&C) Dept. vide their U.O.No.
30729/543/A2/EAC/12,dated 14-11-2012.
