Eligibility criteria for admission into AICTE Dual Degree courses 2013-14


The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has introduced the new Dual degree/ Integrated programmes from the academic year 2013-14 and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has accorded approvals for starting the following new programmes in the existing  Professional Institutions in the State:-

1)   5- year Duel Degree course in Management.

2)   5 ½ year Integrated programme in Management leading to award of Master of Management ( Engineering – MTM, Pharmacy- MTM, Pharmacy – MPM) and 6 ½ year Master of Management programme in Architecture (MARM).

3)   Separate Division for conducting 2- year MCA course.

4)   5 year Dual Degree course in MCA

5)   Lateral Entry scheme (20 % supernumerary seats) for BCA & B.Sc (IT/CS) Degree holders for admission at 2nd year level of MCA course.

6)   Separate Division for conducting 3-year Engineering & Technology courses for Diploma and B.Sc Holders.

The Government of AP has examined the above programmes in consultation with A.P. State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad and opined that keeping in view of the short time available to adhere to the already announced admission schedule of Professional courses for this academic year 2013-14, instead of going comprehensive amendments to the existing Test Rules and Admissions Rules, it is decided to issue only operating guidelines for making admissions to the new courses for the academic year 2013-14.

 

 Accordingly, the following guidelines are issued for making admissions to the new courses for the academic year 2013-14 in respect of each programme are as follows:-

1. INTEGRATED PROGRAMMES IN MANAGEMENT

1.

 

Duration 5 ½ years for Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy Management courses

6 ½ years for Architecture Management course

2. Entry level qualification Shall be same as prescribed for admission in Bachelor Degree courses in Engineering and Technology/Pharmacy/Architecture i.e Pass at 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry/BT/Biology Securing 45% marks in group subjects (40% in case of reserved categories)
3. Admission process Admission will be at the 2nd year of the programme and is based on course wise merit of the 1st year result of the respective disciplines offered in the institute.
4. Sanctioned intake
  • One division of 60 students and shall be within the total sanctioned intake for UG courses in the institute and not an additional intake.
  • Students selection shall be done at the start of 3rd semester based on course wise merit of the 1st year result of the respective disciplines offered in the institute.
  • The division of 60 shall have equal number of students from each course viz. Civil, Electrical, Mechanical , ECE etc.
5. Degree awarded B.E/B.Tech or B.Pharmacy at the end of 4-years

B.Architecture at the end of 5-years

And

Master of Management in Engineering & Technology (MTM) at the end of 5 ½ years

Master of Management in Pharmacy (MPM) at the end of 5 ½ years

Master of Management in Architecture (MARM) at the end of 6 ½ years

6.

Admission authority The Director (Admissions) of the university concerned will monitor and accord approval for the admissions made for the courses following the regular admission rules as prescribed in the relevant GO’s and the above said admission process and sanctioned intake. If any of the students admitted under Category-B in 1st year course, will be selected for the Integrated course, such students will be treated as admitted under category-B only.

 

2. DUAL DEGREE IN MANAGEMENT

1.

Duration 5 years

2.

Entry level qualification 10+2 passouts with atleast 45% marks (40% in case of reserved categories) belonging to Science/Commerce/Arts streams

3.

Admission process For the year 2013-14 admissions shall be based on merit in the qualifying examination.
Admissions shall be effected on the basis of separate merit list of students passed in the following streams at 10+2 examination

Science stream         : 20 seats

Commerce stream    : 20 seats

Arts stream               : 20 seats

In case of non availability of students from one stream, remaining seats in that stream may be allotted to students from other two streams on equal basis. In case of non availability of students from two streams, remaining seats in those streams may be allotted to students from third stream.

* No PIO/NRI seats shall be allotted for these courses.

4.

Degree awarded Bachelor of Management (BM) after 3-years

Bachelor of Applied Management (BAM) after 4-years

Master of Applied Management (MAM) after 5-years

5.

Admission authority The Convener, ICET (Admissions) will make admission for 70% of the sanctioned intake (category-A seats) for the courses following the regular admission rules as prescribed in the relevant GO’s and the above said admission process.

 

3. DUAL DEGREE IN MCA

Duration 5 years
Entry level qualification Pass at 10+2 with Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry/BT/Biology

Securing 45% marks in group subjects (40% in case of reserved categories)

Admission process For the year 2013-14 admissions shall be based on merit at EAMCET.

 

* No PIO/NRI seats shall be allotted for these courses.

Degree awarded Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) after 3-years

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at the end of 5-years

Admission authority The Convener, EAMCET (Admissions) will make admission for 70% of the sanctioned intake (category-A seats) for the courses following the regular admission rules as prescribed in the relevant GO’s and the above said admission process.


4. SEPARATE DIVISION IN MCA

Duration 2 years
Entry level qualification BCA or Degree holders in IT/CS with Mathematics at 10+2 or Degree level. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved categories) in Qualifying examination.
Entry level At 2nd year of regular 3-year MCA course
Admission process For the year 2013-14 admissions shall be based on merit in the qualifying examination.

 

* No PIO seats shall be allotted for this course. Lateral entry supernumerary seats shall not apply.

Degree awarded Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

 

Admission authority The Convener, ICET (Admissions) will make admission for 70% of the sanctioned intake (category-A seats) for the courses following the regular admission rules as prescribed in the relevant GO’s and the above said admission process.


5. LATERAL ENTRY IN MCA

Duration 2 years

 

Entry level qualification BCA or Degree holders in IT/CS with Mathematics at 10+2 or Degree level. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of reserved categories) in Qualifying examination.
Entry level At 2nd year of regular 3-year MCA course
Admission process For the year 2013-14 admissions shall be based on merit in the qualifying examination.

 

* 20% of the supernumerary seats.

Degree awarded Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

 

Admission authority The Convener, ICET (Admissions) will make admission for 20% of supernumerary seats that are provided along with regular intake for the course following the regular admission rules as prescribed in the relevant GO’s and the above said admission process.

 SEPARATE DIVISION IN ENGINEERING & TECHNOLOGY COURSES

Duration 3 years
Entry level qualification Diploma and B.Sc Degree holders with Mathematics at 10+2/Degree level. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of reserved categories) in Qualifying examination.
Entry level At 2nd year of regular 4-year B.Tech course
Admission process Admissions shall be based on merit rank at ECET for the year 2013-14

* No PIO seats shall be allotted for this course. Lateral entry supernumerary seats shall not apply.

Degree awarded B.E/B.Tech

 

Admission authority The Convener, ECET (Admissions) will make admission for 70% of the sanctioned intake (category-A seats) for the courses following the regular admission rules as prescribed in the relevant GO’s and the above said admission process.

The Secretary, A.P. State Council of Higher Education, Hyderabad shall take further necessary action in the matter, accordingly and formulate detailed guidelines for the academic year 2014-15.

Eligibility criteria for admission into Duel Degree AICTE 2013
