On behalf of our client — Bharat Rashtra Samithi, Telangana Bhavan, Road No. 10, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad (our client' or 'BRS Party' or 'the Party'), and under the instructions of our client, we issue this legal notice as under: 1. Our client states that they are an Indian Political Party which was founded in the year 2001 by Sri Kalvakuntla Chandrashekar Rao Garu. The Party was primarily responsible for the formation and statehood of Telangana. Our client states that, during the BRS Party's term, they made immense contribution to the development and welfare of the State and its people. 2. Our client states that, the BJP Party has been in power since 2014 at the Central level. It is the common knowledge that the Central Government had always neglected the interests and welfare of the State of Telangana and its people and as such, the BRS Party was always at logger heads with the Central Government, demanding better benefits for the State of Telangana and its people. 3. Our client states that You No. I are a reputed media house and You No. 2 are a well-known journalist across the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and have a reputation for delivering news across the globe. It has recently come to the attention of our client that the both of you have been disseminating false and fake news/ information by resorting to circulation of defamatory, slanderous and libelous content and videos that our client i.e. the BRS Party is merging with the BJP Party, which at the very outset is baseless and untrue. 4. Our client states that, You No. 2 have been at the helm of circulation of such false and fake news on the platform provided by You No. 1. The both of you are circulating such news/ information without an iota of evidence or a shred of proof. The news that is being circulated by the both of you is completely false and based on speculative and unfounded allegations. There is absolutely no record whatsoever in nature to claim such unfounded allegations against our client. Our client states that, by circulating such false and fake news, by resorting to such acts of defamation, libel and slander, the both of you are deceiving the general public and engaging in the acts detrimental to the interests of our client. 6. Our client states that it is appalling that the both of you are circulating this fake news knowing that the BRS Party and the BJP Party have always been at logger heads for the past 10 years. The circulation of this fake and false news has deeply affected the members of the BRS Party and general public and is impacting the morale of the followers of the BRS Party, which in turn is adversely affecting the Party's reputation and goodwill. 7. Our client states that the both of you, in the videos that are being circulated, are claiming in a categorical manner that it was the both of you who are reporting such a news for the first time and publicizing it to be exclusive news reported to the general public. 8. Our client states that, following the false information disseminated by the both of you, various media houses and social media accounts have also started reporting the said false information without any proof whatsoever, thereby effecting the goodwill and reputation of our client. This clearly shows that, the both of you are the reason for circulation of such false news by several other media channels and social media accounts. The both of you are providing ammunition to the other media channels and social media accounts to disseminate this false information and news to create sensationalism for your personal and political benefit. As such, it is clear that these are acts are only mala fide propaganda being engaged by the both of you to suit your purpose of creating sensationalism and damage our client's goodwill and reputation among the general public, clearly with an intent to further third-party interests. 9. Hence, our client is suffering huge loss of reputation and goodwill with the circulation of such defamatory, libelous and slanderous videos in social media and other broadcasting platforms in an irresponsible manner and with criminal motive. 10. Our client states that both of you are acting in a coordinated manner with other media houses and conspiring against our client with the sole motive and intent to assassinate the reputation of the Party without holding any proofs whatsoever in this regard. These unfounded allegations and acts of sensationalism have brought disrepute to the Party. 11. Our client further states that the both of you have collectively initiated a smear campaign against our client with the malicious intent to mislead and misdirect the people at large to a great misconception, that the BRS Party is not going to exist anymore and merge with the BJP Party. This has caused disrepute and confusion among the members of the Party and the general public who access You No. l's channel from across the globe for news. As such, this is nothing but clear acts of engaging in slanderous and defamatory acts against our client. 12. Our client states that your prime motive is to demolish the confidence and trust of lakhs of public in the Party by damaging their reputation and goodwill, trying to show that the Party is weak and desperate to join hands with the BJP, through all kinds of publicity with vested political agenda, by levelling frivolous and false allegations in You No.l's media channel every day against our client. 13. Our client states that this vitriolic campaign is causing reputational damage to our client. The both of you have conspired to malign our client's reputation based on false information, assumptions, lies and frivolous allegations. 14. Such unfounded allegations have resulted in loss of reputation and goodwill to our client. 15. To refrain from creating/publishing defamatory, slanderous and libelous print and videos, circulating the same, with an intent to tarnish the image of the BRS Party. iii. To tender an unconditional public apology to the BRS Party for tarnishing its reputation and goodwill by your malicious and defamatory and libelous acts. iv.
