Following the shocking murder of NCP leader and Salman Khan’s close friend, Baba Siddique, the Bollywood superstar has heightened his security measures amid escalating death threats. Siddique’s murder, carried out by three armed men near his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Mumbai’s Neelamnagar on October 12, has left Salman Khan under increased scrutiny and at significant personal risk.
Khan, who is hosting Bigg Boss 18 this season, has long been a target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. Following fresh threats from this gang, the actor’s security team has bolstered precautions, including adding a bulletproof vehicle to his fleet. The Bishnoi gang has even claimed responsibility for Siddique’s murder, heightening fears surrounding Salman Khan’s safety. In one of the recent threats received on the Mumbai Police’s WhatsApp number, it was stated: “If Salman Khan wants to stay alive and end the enmity with Lawrence Bishnoi, he will need to pay ₹5 crore. If not, his condition will be worse than Baba Siddique’s,” reported by ANI.
Salman Khan Purchases Bulletproof Nissan Patrol Amid Ongoing Threats
To further secure his safety, Khan recently acquired a bulletproof Nissan Patrol SUV, valued at approximately ₹2 crore. As this model is unavailable in the Indian market, he is making arrangements to have it shipped from Dubai. This custom upgrade to his fleet is just one of many steps taken in light of the heightened security threats.
According to reports, this isn’t the first time Salman has resorted to importing a bulletproof vehicle. Last year, he obtained another high-security vehicle after receiving threats from the Bishnoi gang following the infamous blackbuck poaching case that has haunted him since the 1990s.
Noida Tattoo Artist Arrested Over Death Threats to Salman Khan
In a twist to the security saga, a 20-year-old tattoo artist from Noida, Gufran Khan, was apprehended in connection with the recent threats targeting Salman Khan and MLA Zeeshan Siddique. Following a threatening message sent to Zeeshan Siddique’s office in Bandra, which warned of a conspiracy to harm both him and Salman, the Mumbai Police quickly tracked down the source of the message, leading to Gufran’s arrest. Authorities reported that Gufran had sent the initial threat to intimidate and potentially extort money by leveraging fear.
Gufran confessed that he planned to send a second message demanding a ransom in exchange for details on the alleged plot but was detained before carrying out this scheme. During questioning, he disclosed that his motive was to gain financial benefit from the scare tactics. Currently, he is under police custody in Mumbai.
Repeated Threats Heighten Salman Khan’s Security Concerns
This incident marks yet another in a series of recent threats to the Bollywood star’s life. Weeks before, a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur was arrested after issuing a threat message demanding ₹5 crore in ransom from Khan, though the sender later apologized and claimed it was a mistake. This wave of threats comes just months after an attack on Khan’s Mumbai residence in April, where shots were fired, allegedly orchestrated by members of the Bishnoi gang.
Since then, Salman Khan’s security detail has been heavily strengthened, with police patrols around his residence and increased vigilance at public appearances. Khan’s past legal battles, including his involvement in the blackbuck hunting case in Rajasthan during the filming of Hum Saath Saath Hain, have long placed him on the radar of the Bishnoi gang, who hold a strong religious affiliation with the blackbuck species.

Despite the recent tragedy involving his friend Baba Siddique, Salman Khan recently resumed his hosting duties for Bigg Boss 18, albeit under stringent security arrangements.
