50 Projects for treatment of 2.005 lakh ha in 8 districts of the Telangana State

G.O.MS.No. 11. Dated:20-09-2014 From the Dy.Inspector Genl. of Forests, GoI, Min. of RD Dept., of Land Resources, Lr.No.Z-11011/2/2014-PPC, Dt:24-07-2014 together with the Minutes of the 37th meeting of the Steering Committee on IWMP held on 27th, 28th & 29th May, 2014 at Nirman Bhavan, Dept., of Land Resources,

Department of Land Resources, Government of India have communicated the minutes of the thirty seventh meeting of the Steering Committee on Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP), held on 27th, 28th & 29th May 2014, wherein, the GoI, have informed that the proposals submitted by Spl. Commissioner, (Watersheds), Rural Development for sanction of Watersheds for the year 2014-2015 to the Committee were cleared by the Steering Committee, for taking up 50 Projects covering 2.005 lakh ha.

2. Government after careful consideration hereby accord sanction the 50 Projects (Mega Watersheds) covering an area of 2.005 lakh ha., in eight districts of Telangana for the year 2014-2015 to the PIAs as shown in the Annexure to this order.

3. For smooth implementation of the programme, the Commissioner, Rural Development, being the Chief Executive Officer, State Level Nodal Agency, IWMP shall ensure that the

i. IWMP Projects are implemented in a planned manner so that situation of foreclosure of these Projects does not arise.

ii. The designation of the Head of the Office of PIA should be mentioned for each Project in addition to the name of the Department appointed as PIA.

iii. The DPRs of their Projects shall be got prepared before December, 2014.

iv. PIAs shall put in place management team for each Water Shed at the earliest.
