Sponsoring of one hundred 100 Minority students for Civil services coaching 1


Director, Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM), Hyderabad has proposed and requested the Government to sponsor one hundred (100) Minority candidates to any reputed private coaching centre for UPSC Civil Services exam – 2014 to be held in August, 2014.

Government have examined the matter in detail and considering the meagre representation of Minority candidates in All India Services, hereby  launch a new scheme namely “Sponsoring of one hundred (100) Minority students for Civil Services coaching through reputed private coaching centre at Hyderabad conducted by UPSC. The Scheme will be operated through Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM) and accordingly issue the following guidelines for the said new scheme:-

The Director, Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM), Hyderabad shall call for quotations from all the reputed civil service coaching centres by calling open tenders for coaching of these candidates at Hyderabad.

The Institute offering the best coaching, having best Infrastructure and best coaching content and having best results and quoted the least rate shall be short listed to impart the coaching.

The Director, Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM), Hyderabad shall make wide publicity setting the date for qualifying exam through print / electronic media.

The No. of students to be sponsored to be the top hundred candidates in terms of qualifying marks plus 25% weight-age of degree certificate subject to a lower ceiling of not less than 70%.

33% of the sponsored students shall preferably be ladies.

Centre shall be at Hyderabad only and batch shall start not later than last week of February, 2014.

The Commissioner, Minorities Welfare shall oversee the implementation of the scheme properly by the Director, CEDM.

The Commissioner, Minorities Welfare shall keep an amount of Rs.70.00 lakhs (Rupees Seventy Lakhs only) at the disposal of the Director, Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM), Hyderabad account for the expenditure, duly tapping the funds available under the scheme “Training & Employment” from APSMFC and APSC(M)FC by drawing Rs.50.00 lakhs from APSMFC and Rs.20.00 lakhs from APSC(M)FC.

The break up of the 100 Minority candidates shall be with reference to the ratio of population of different communities amongst the Minorities

3.         The Commissioner, Minorities Welfare, A.P., Hyderabad / Director, Centre for Educational Development of Minorities (CEDM), Hyderabad / Vice Chairman & Managing Director, A.P. State Minorities Finance Corporation, Hyderabad and Managing Director, A.P. State Christian (Minorities) Finance Corporation, Hyderabad shall take necessary further action accordingly.
