Ex-gratia to the Legal heirs of deceased Police Personnel – violence prior to 1996 1


Government of Andhra Pradesh have issued orders for sanction of ex-gratia of 20 times of the salary drawn by the deceased official subject to minimum of Rs.1.50 lakhs to the legal heir of the Police Personnel killed in extremist violence. Prior to issue of G.O.Ms.No.30, GA (SC. C) Department, dated 01.02.1996, there were no specific guidelines for sanction of ex-gratia. However, some cases were dealt basing on field reports and proposals sent by the unit officers. Accordingly, (25) personnel who died in exchange of fire/landmine blasting between 17.03.1992 to 27.01.1993 were sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs.1.00 Lakh each vide G.O.Rt.No.477, Home (Police.A) Department, dated 07.03.1994, and (25) personnel of Adilabad District who died during the period from 1985 to 25-01-1996 were granted ex-gratia of Rs.1.25 lakhs each vide G.O.Rt.No.1231, Home (Police A) Department, dated 07-08-2001.

The Inspector General of Police, (Intelligence) A.P., Hyderabad, has stated that there are some more families who are not sanctioned ex- gratia. As such, while enclosing the list of to (101) Police Personnel, who killed in Naxalite violence prior to 1996, he has requested to sanction ex-gratia.

The Director General of Police, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad, after examining the merits of the each case, has requested for sanction of Rs.5.00 lakhs ex-gratia to (95) members of next kin of police personnel, who died in extremist violence prior to 1996, duly deducting the amount already paid by way of meager ex-gratia and CMRF in particular cases.

The Government of AP after examination of the entire matter, hereby accord sanction for payment of Rs.5.00 lakhs ex-gratia to (95) next kin of police personnel, who died in extremist violence prior to 1996, duly deducting the amount already paid by way of meager ex-gratia and CMRF in particular cases, subject to meeting the entire expenditure with in the B.E. 2012-13.

The Director General of Police, A.P. Hyderabad is requested to take necessary action in the matter. This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (Exp.Home-I) Department vide their U.O.No.328/1/2013, Dated 07.01.2013.

    Sir my uncle (constable) has passed away on 2008 dec 31st, and regarding his pension my aunt is asking me few details about G.O.Ms.No.30, G.A. (SC.C) Deptt, dated 01.02.1996 but am not getting it either on internet or govt ofc. All am getting are latest GOs, but she is asking me G.O.30 dated on 01.02.1996 so if you have any document or details about that GO please kindly forward it to my mail ID that will my uncles children education.
