Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department – Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation – Inclusion of areas covered in the surrounding twenty one (21) Gram Panchayats into the limits of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation, East Godavari District – Notification – Issued.
The Commissioner and Director of Municipal Administration, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad in the reference stated that the District Collector, East Godavari District, Kakinada has forwarded a proposal for inclusion of areas covered in the surrounding twenty two (22) Gram Panchayats into the limits of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation.
The C&D.M.A., Hyderabad has further stated that the District Collector, East Godavari while enclosing the resolution of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation accepting for inclusion of above Gram Panchayats, explained the necessity for inclusion of surrounding twenty two (22) Gram Panchayats into the municipal limits of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation for providing basic amenities, infrastructure and transport etc.
The Government after careful examination of the proposal have decided to include the areas covered under twenty one (21) Gram Panchayats in to the limits of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation except one Gram Panchayat which is involved in a Court Case. The Government in Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department after examining the resolutions passed against / in favour of the proposal by the respective Gram Panchayats as per rules, have de-notified the following twenty one (21) Gram Panchayats of East Godavari District for inclusion into Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation in East Godavari District.

- The Government, therefore, hereby notify inclusion of the areas covered in the twenty one (21) Gram Panchayats mentioned in para (3) above into the limits of Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation.
- The appended notification will be published in an Extra-Ordinary Issue of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette dated 19.03.2013.
- The Commissioner, Printing, Stationary and Stores Purchase, Hyderabad is requested to publish the above notification and furnish fifty (50) copies of the Andhra Pradesh Gazette to the Government immediately.
NOTIFICATION
In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (2) of section 3 of the Andhra Pradesh Municipal Corporations Act, 1994 (Andhra Pradesh Act No. 25 of 1994), the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby alters the limits of the Rajahmundry Municipal Corporation by including the following areas of the erstwhile Gram Panchayats of East Godavari District therein with immediate effect:
