The Government of Andhra Pradesh have reviewed the need and relevance of continuing the Office of the Commissioner, Small Savings keeping in view the annual borrowing limits under the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management ( F.R.B.M.) Act., the increased cost of borrowing from the National Small Savings Fund (NSSF) and the reduction in the repayment period from 25 to 10 years. With the annual borrowing limits under the FRBM Act., loans from NSSF have ceased to be an additional resource for the State Government. In view of these developments, it is felt that the continuation of the Office of the Commissioner, Small Savings will not serve any useful purpose.
After examination, Government decide to disband the Office of the
Commissioner of Small Savings with effect from 1-1-2013 and order the following:
A. All posts sanctioned to Commissionerate of Small Savings at Head Office and
Districts are hereby abolished w.e.f.1-1-2013.
B. The present Staff Members at Commissionerate of Small Savings are hereby instructed to report before Finance (SMPC) Department on 1-1-2013.
