Andhra Pradesh RABI 2015-16 Insurance Scheme

The Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby notify the following Crops and the districts during Rabi 2015-16 under Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (WBCIS) of National Crop Insurance Programme (NCIP). The main feature / Operational Modalities of the Scheme along with Term Sheets vide Annexure I to X in respect of Mango Crop, Annexure-I to X in respect of Banana (fruit) Crop and Annexure I to X in respect of Cashewnut Crops are appended to this order.

1 Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, YSR Kadapa, Kurnool, Chittoor and Prakasam (10 Districts ) Mango
2 Vizianagaram, East Godavari, YSR Kadapa,  Kurnool & Guntur (5 Districts ) Banana (fruit)
3 Srikakulam and Vizianagaram

The claims under NCIP – WBCIS shall be settled on the basis of the weather data furnished by the APSDPS / State Govt. Mandal level Rain Gauge stations / IMD Weather stations for the notified crops & districts and not on the basis of individual declaration of crop damage Annavari Certificate / Gezette notification declaring the area Drought / Flood/ Cyclone affected etc., issued by the Government.

The Director of Agriculture, AP, Hyderabad shall take further action in the matter.

The Government of Andhra Pradesh hereby notify the crops and areas (District – Wise) during Rabi 2015-16 for implementation of National Agricultural Insurance Scheme (NAIS) in 13 Districts of the state by taking Mandal / Group of Mandals as Insurance Unit and “Village as Insurance Unit” for one predominant crop each in 7 Districts viz., 1. East Godavari 2. West Godavari 3. Krishna 4. Guntur 5. Prakasam 6. Nellore 7. Chittoor   during  Rabi, 2015-16. The details of District wise Crops proposed, Premium rates, Seasonality discipline and  farmers enrolment proposal forms vide Annexure I to IX and Mandal / Village Insurance Units vide Statement No. 1 to 13 along with proforma A&B ( 7 districts) are appended to this Order.

Further, settlement of the claims as per the NAIS Guidelines and administrative approval of Government of India for 2015-16 with the condition that, the indemnity claims in respect of wide spread calamities will be settled on the basis of yield data furnished by State Government, based on requisite number of Crop Cutting Experiments (CCEs) conducted under General Crop Estimation survey (GCES) and not on any other basis like annavari / paisawari certificate / Declaration of drought / flood, Gazette Notification etc., by any other Department / Authority.

The Director of Agriculture, AP, Hyderabad shall take further necessary action in the matter.
