24 vacancies of Forest Range Officers Direct Recruitment in Zone-VI

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad in the references has proposed for filling up of the (17) vacancies of Forest Range Officers by ad hoc promotions to the Deputy Range Officers due to the acute need of the FROS in the existing Ranges of Zone VI, for smooth running of the administration and for protection of Forests.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests in the references has also informed that the Commissioner, GHMC, Hyderabad reported that the GHMC has taken up development of landscape gardens, biodiversity parks, lake development works and massive afforestation in its jurisdiction.

Besides this, greenery at the traffic islands, Central media and under the flyovers in the GHMC areas is being developed and maintained. The present field workers, working in the GHMC are not sufficient to attend to the massive greenery development works taken up by the GHMC. Hence, GHMC requires (13) FROs on deputation from A.P. Forest Department, since as against (14)
sanctioned posts of FROs only (1) one FRO is working in GHMC and requested to spare the services of (13) more Forest Range Officers on deputation to GHMC to work in the Urban Bio-diversity wing on usual foreign service termsand conditions.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests has further informed that there is in-adequate strength of FROs in Zone-VI to spare the services of FROs to GHMC at this juncture and as such, it is proposed to utilize additionalvacancies of GHMC by ad hoc promotions of in-service DROs of Zone-VI, not only to fulfill the requirement of GHMC, but also to strengthen the protection
of forests and forestry works in the Forest Department, by posting regular FROs in vacant Ranges. He has therefore requested the Government to accord permission for filling up of (24) existing Direct Recruitment vacancies, on adhoc basis by promoting the eligible Deputy Range Officers of Zone-VI.

Government after careful examination, hereby accord permission to the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests to consider qualified, required minimum service and eligible in-service Deputy Range Officers in Zone-VI for promotion to the category of Forest Range Officers on adhoc basis, in the existing (24) vacancies meant for Direct Recruitment, till such time the Direct
Recruits report to duty, in view of administrative exigency, subject to specific condition that the persons promoted in such vacancies shall be reverted as and when situation demands. The services of such promotees shall not be regularized and they cannot commence probation in the promoted post as the individuals are promoted only on temporary and adhoc basis, against the
vacancies earmarked for Direct Recruitment. An irrevocable undertaking to this effect shall be obtained from all the individuals, before issue of promotion orders.

The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Hyderabad shall take necessary action in the matter accordingly.
