IIITs on PPP basis by Central,State Government & Industry
Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India is setting up 20 new Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs) to address the increasing skill challenges of the Indian IT Industry and growth of the domestic IT market. The Union Cabinet in its meeting held on 07-12-2010 approved setting up 20 new Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIITs) on a Public Private Partnership (PPP) basis. As per the approved scheme, the three partners in setting up the IIITs would be the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, Governments of the respective states where each IIIT will be established and the industry concerned. The capital cost of each IIIT would be Rs.128.00 crore to be contributed in the ratio of 50:35:15 by the Central Government, the State Government and industry respectively.
The Commissioner of Technical Education in his letter , has stated that a notification was issued by CTE on 22-08-2011 inviting the applications from potential industry partners for expression of interest to participate in establishment of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode at Medak, Chittoor and Visakhapatnam Districts. In response to the said notification the CTE has received applications from the following industries:-

The CTE has sent a proposal to Government to constitute a Committee to finalize the industrial partner to participate in establishment of IIIT in PPP mode.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh after careful examination of the matter hereby constitute a Committee to finalize the industrial partners to participate in the establishment of IIIT in PPP mode in the State as per the guidelines of Government of India in the matter with the following members:-
1 Secretary to Government, IT Dept., Govt. A.P.
2 Commissioner of Technical Education, A.P. – Member Convenor.
3 Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies, Hyderabad
4 Commissioner of Industries Dept., Govt. of A.P.
The said Committee is requested to send its report to the Government within one month positively.
The Commissioner of Technical Education, Andhra Pradesh,Hyderabadshall take necessary further action in the matter.
