Engineer-in-Chief (A.W), Irrigation & CAD Department, Hyderabad has reported that importance of Industrialization was emphasized by the Government of India during 2nd Five Year Plan and thus the Apprentices Act 1961 was enacted in the Parliament to train the pass-outs of ITI’s in the industries to make them employable after the Training and they are called Trade Apprentices. The Act was amended in 1986 to bring +2 Vocational pass-outs under the purview of the Act, called Technician (Vocational) Apprentices. Department of Higher Education in the Ministry of HRD is implementing the Act in respect of Graduate, Technician & Technician(Vocational) Apprentices. This is done through four Regional Boards of Apprenticeship Training located at Kanpur, Kolkatta, Mumbai & Chennai.
The Engineer-in-Chief(AW) has further reported that as per the Apprenticeship Act 1961, the candidates who have passed Intermediate(Vocational) in Construction Technology are selected through the centralized selection programme conducted by the Commissioner of I–ntermediate Education and Board of Apprenticeship Training(Southern Region), Chennai at various places of state and engaged as Technician (Vocational) Apprentices to under go one year Apprenticeship Training in State Government Departments and Irrigation and CAD Department, Govt of Telangana has been notified as one of the departmental Training centres .
The Engineer-in-Chief (AW), Hyderabad has therefore requested to accord approval for engaging 300 Nos intermediate(Vocational) Apprentices in the Construction Technology for one year period with a 50% share in the stipend of Rs.2758/- per month.
Government, after careful examination, of the proposal, hereby accord sanction for engaging 300 numbers of Intermediate (Vocational) Apprentices in the field of Construction Technology for a period of one year with 50% share in Stipend of Rs.2758/-per month with a total Financial implication to a tune of Rs.50 lakhs ( Rupees Fifty Lakhs only) per annum,.
The expenditure sanctioned at para (4)above shall be debitable to the detailed head of account under “2700-Major Irrigation.80-General, M.H.001-D and A,-S.H.01 -Headquarters, 200-Other Administrative Expenses”.
The Engineer-in-Chief (A.W), Irrigation & CAD Department, Hyderabad shall take further necessary action, accordingly.
