2.05 Lakhs Clothes Distribution in Telangana on official festival Christmas


Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao directed the officials to distribute clothes to 2.05 lakhs Christian people who were living below the poverty line.

In every assembly constituencies in Telangana State around 1000 pair of Paints and shits and 1000 Saree.  Mr Rao reviewed the arrangements with chief secretary Rajiv Sharma and other top officials on Friday. Mr Rao will distribute the clothes on December 20 during a Christmas tree celebration. Elsewhere, clothes will be distributed at 190 locations. This will be followed by dinners at hundreds of churches in Hyderabad and 95 Assembly constituencies across the state.

History:

Telangana Government traditionally hosts Iftar Party during Ramzan over the years.  Dawat-e-Iftar hosted by Hon’ble Chief Minister at Nizam College on 12th July, 2015, Government have decided to host Dawat-e-Iftar Party on 12th July, 2015 on behalf of Government in a befitting manner in 100 Mosques in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation area and another 95 Mosques in Assembly Constituency headquarters spread throughout the State. Further, Government have also decided to arrange for Distribution of Clothes on the occasion to 1.95 Lakhs poor destitute and deserving Muslim families as follows:-

(a) Dawat-e-Iftar on behalf of Hon’ble Chief Minister at 100 Mosques in G.H.M.C. area @ Rs.200/- per person for 1,000 Persons in each Mosque.

Rs.2.00 Crores to be released and distributed through Chief Executive Officer, Wakf Board to the concerned Imam and Mosque Committee. The actual supervision and logistics will be done through Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad, Commissioner, GHMC. Funds to be released to Chief Executive Officer, Wakf Board.

(b) Distribution of Clothes to 1,000 families @ Rs.500/- per family in the 100 Mosques in GHMC area, covering 1,000 families in each Mosque.

b) Rs.9.75 Crores, to be released to Chief Executive Officer, Wakf Board. Competent Authority, Wakf Board to call for open Tenders centrally for procuring the Clothes’ Gift Packs numbering 1.95 Lakhs for Hyderabad and 9 Districts. The CEO, Wakf Board to arrange distribution through Imam / Masjid Committee in Hyderabad and in the Districts. The actual logistics and supervision by Commissioner of Police, Hyderabad and Commissioner of Police, Cyberabad.

(a) Dawat-e-Iftar on behalf of Hon’ble Chief Minister at 95 Assembly Constituencies Head Quarter’s Mosque in the Districts (other than GHMC area) @ Rs.200/- for 1000 persons per Mosque.

(a)Rs.1.90 Crores to be released through CEO, Wakf Board and distributed through the concerned District Collector and concerned Imam and Masjid Committee

(b) Distribution of Clothes to 1,000 families @ Rs.500/- per family in the 95 Mosques each, other than GHMC area, covering 1,000 families per Mosque.

(b) Clothes to be procured centrally by CEO, Wakf Board and distributed through District Collector concerned and concerned Imam / Masjid Committee.

Distribution of Clothes and Dawath-eIftar at certain Orphanages throughout State.

Rs.35.00 Lakhs. To be released and distributed by Chief Executive Officer, Wakf Board, Hyderabad

Finance (EBS.III) Department have issued redistribution of funds orders by releasing an amount of Rs.14,00,00,000/- (Rupees Fourteen Crores only) by way of re-appropriation of funds. Finance (EBS.III) Dept. have issued necessary Orders for above amount from the B.E. 2015-16 Plan funds towards meeting the expenditure for Rs. 4.00 Crores towards Dawate-e-Iftar and Rs. 10.00 Crores towards Distribution of clothes to poor and deserving families under the scheme “Dawat-e-Iftar” and requested to issue Administration Sanction Order.

In terms of the Budget Release Order issued, Government of Telangana State accord administrative sanction for incurring an expenditure of Rs.14,00,00,000/- (Rupees Fourteen Crores only) Plan from the B.E. 2015-16 towards meeting the expenditure for Rs. 4.00 Crores towards Dawate-e-Iftar and Rs. 10.00 Crores towards Distribution of clothes to poor and deserving families under the scheme “Dawat-e-Iftar” as detailed above.
