Prohibition of Import, Export or Transport of certain Horticulture Plants


        NOTIFICATION

In exercise of the powers conferred under section 8 of the Andhra Pradesh Registration of Horticulture Nurseries (Regulation) Act, 2010 (Act No.13 of 2010) the Government of Andhra Pradesh  hereby prohibits the bringing into or taking out of the State or any part thereof otherwise than across the customs frontiers as defined by the Central Government under the relevant law for the time being in force or the transport within the 8State, the following Horticulture plants of unknown pedigree or affected by any infection or contagious pests or diseases for the purposes of maintaining the quality of any Horticulture plant grown in any part of the State and to protect them from injurious, insects, pests or plant diseases.

“Mal Secco”(Deuterophoma trachipeilla) Growing imported seeds and plants under post-entry quarantine

Coconut seeds and plants (all species of Cocoa)

Red Ring (Rhadinaphelenchus cocophilus), Lethal yellowing , cadang cadang, Bronze leaf wilt, Guam cocnut disease, Leaf Scorch, Coconut leaf miner (Promecotheca cumingi) i.Consignments can only be imported by Director, Central Plantation Crops research Institute, Kasaragod (Kerela)ii) Imported material shall be grown in individual containers under post entry quarantine.

Coffee(a)  Plants,seeds              (all species of Coffee)

American leaf spot (Omphalia flavida, Virus diseases and coffee berry borer (Hypothenamus hampii) Consignment of coffee seeds, plants can only be imported by Director, Coffee Research Station pin-577117, Karnataka
(b)  Coffee Beans Sri Lanka, Africa South America Coffee berry borer (Hypothenamus hampii)

Potato (all species of Solanum)

Wart (Synchytrium endo-bioticum) cyst nematodes (Golobodera pallid, G. ros-tochiensis), (Leptin otarasa decimlineata) and freedom of parent crops from virus diseases. i) Consignment can only be imported for Research By Director, Central Potato Research Institutes, Simla (H.P)ii) Consignments shall be grown under post-entry quarantine

Rubber (all species of Hevea) America or West Indies South American Leaf Blight (Mycrocyclus ulei) (Sphaerostilbe repens)

Cuttings/Saplings / budwood of flowers and ornamental plants

Exotic pests and diseases to be specified in the import permit. Consignments shall be grown in approved post-entry quarantine.

Planting material/seeds of fruits

Exotic pests and diseases to be specified in the import permit i)Import to be permitted selectively by the Central Government on the recommendations of Director of Horticulture / Agriculture of State Govt.ii. Consignment to be grown under post entry quarantine conditions, to be specified by the Plant Protection Adviser.
