Deposit of Rs 5000per child who is Mentally Challenged & suffering with Cerabralpalsy

The GOI has communicated certain new interventions under “Strengthened and Restructured” ICDS Scheme in Mission Mode. One of the new interventions is to facilitate integrated and inclusive early childhood care and development services to all children with special needs through Anganwadi Centres. The Government of India has sanctioned Rs.9.00 Crore during 2013-14 to take up activities for special needs children to ensure provision of need based interventions/services like assessment and investigation / assistive devices/special education activity kit/books/ building ramps/ nutrition etc.

The Commissioner, WD&CW Dept. Hyderabad has stated that the same matter was discussed in the review meeting with PDs & RJDs of WD&CW Dept. on 9th & 10th January, 2014 by Principal Secretary to the Government and it was decided to sanction an amount of Rs.5000/- per child who is mentally challenged and who is suffering with Cerabralpalsy in the age group of 0-6 years as the Parents/Guardians of such children face several problems & hardships to provide proper care and protection to such children. Accordingly, based on the proposals received from the Districts the budget was released to the PDs concerned for onward disbursement.
