APSRTC – Extending travel facility to Journalists accredited by the State


It has been represented to the Government to provide 1/3rd concession of the actual fare to the accredited correspondents to travel facility in Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation buses within the State by amending the Circular of Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation in providing concession facility to the accredited Correspondents and also amend the Circular and allow the accredited correspondents who have the concession bus passes facility to travel Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation by extending to travel in A.C. buses also in the State, Districts and Twin Cities to discharge their duties safely to reach their destinations for speedy collection of the news to their papers and electronic media with equipments.

The Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation has informed that the Government is reimbursing 100% cost concessions, extending concessions to any new category will have to be undertaken by them as per the advice of the Government only.

Government after careful examination of the matter and in super session of the orders issued in G.O. hereby agree to provide in addition to the existing facility of travel in Non A/C buses, the Journalists accredited by the State Commissioner of Information and Public Relations (about 1100 in number) will be extended similar facility in all the A/C bus services of APSRTC within the State i.e., the Journalist will pay 1/3rd of the ticket fare and the Government will subsidize 2/3rd ticket fare.

The Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation shall take necessary action in the matter.

This order issues with the concurrence of Finance (Expr.PW) Department vide their U.O.No. 32681/1426/A2/Exp.PW/12, Dt. 6/12/2012 G.O.Ms.No. 116 Date 12/12/2012 Read the following:
